Never trust a new math teacher with graph paper. They’re always plotting something.
This year, Rural Vista Schools welcomes a new math teacher, Mr. Bruce Major. Mr. Major is from Hillsboro, Kansas, and he tells us that he is grateful and glad to have the opportunity to teach here this year. With over forty years of teaching experience at a total of eight different schools, Mr. Major is experienced and ready to take on the task of teaching the students of White City and Hope Schools. He says, “I want the students to learn more than math, but how it can impact their entire lives. I want them to also become confident in their work.”
Mr. Major went to school at Southeast of Saline from the beginning of grade school through to the end of high school. After high school, he went to Kansas State University for both his Bachelors and Masters degrees. When Mr. Major has free time, he loves to read a good book. However, Mr. Major knows more than just math! He can also play the drums, and when he has time he will take every chance to hit up a beat! Mr. Major is very happy to have the opportunity to come out of retirement to teach our high school students and carry on his teaching career.
We are excited to have Mr. Major as our new math teacher this year and perhaps for many more years to come!
