Fun At Field Day!

Wednesday, May 6th saw our students come outside to participate in this year’s Field Day.  It’s a fun capper to the school year.  Parents of the different students like to come watch and cheer their children on to Field Day fun.  This year, you might have seen a bounce house on the football field, and if you wondered why, now you know!

Field Day is an annual event at White City where K-5 students participate in a variety of activities and games. Some of these games include: long jump, an obstacle course, and a variety of other activities.  The stations are set up on both sides of the building.

First, the students make their way to the football field.  Here, the games usually consist mainly of water games such as “Drip Drip Goose.”  This year, due to chilly weather conditions the water games were swapped out for different fun activities such as Parachute, Bean Bag Relay and Baton Relay.

Next, the Junior High / High School students usually group up in groups of 4-5 to help the K-5 understand the various activities.  They also help do things like refill the water buckets.  Mrs. Boltwood, who is in charge of the whole event says, ”My favorite part of Field Day is seeing the children having fun”.

Lastly, all of the students group up to take a picture for the Field Day before heading home.

Mrs Boltwood also would like to thank the staff and students for the help in setting up the event.
