We wanted to catch up with one of our veteran coaches.
Once again, Coach Denny Crable is guiding our athletes to track glory. We wanted to find out more about this year’s team.
This year White City will field 18 boys and 8 girls. Additionally, Hope has 7 boys and 4 girls. In total, Rural Vista Track will see 25 boys and 12 girls participate. It is exciting to see an increase in participation for the girls.
Members that have participated in State are Kole Riedy, Koden Sanford, Grant Eskledson, Tyler Brockmeier, Journey Peterson, and Bryson Allen. Additionally, Nolan Effland is an alternate on a relay from last year's team. In fact, most of these athletes have participated for three years in State, hopefully going for four times.
Rural Vista has never won the State track meet but were second at Regionals two years ago along with being League Champions last year. Actually, they finished in the top four of all the meets last year except Regionals and placed first in over half of them.
But what about the coach? Coach Crable has been coaching for 43 years but not all his years were spent here. Coach Crable said, “The Seniors lead by example and since they have had much success it rubs off on the younger kids wanting to be on successful relays and working hard in practice.” Coach Crable appreciates that he has a really good mixture of athletes from both schools, balanced in boys and girls competing.
Finally, Coach is looking forward to watching them learn and gain experience and hopefully someday maybe being on the record board. He can already see some athletes who - if they keep working hard - will break records.
Coach Crable says,”Come support and attend a track meet. We appreciate those that can make it and cheer our athletes on.”
Thank you Denny Crable for coaching our athletes! Our awesome athletes have an awesome coach!
