Rural Vista is full of scholars!
This year's 2025-2026 Scholars Bowl season was very successful. At the first Scholars Bowl meet at Goessel, Rural Vista finished in 3rd place. At Herington, which was a JV meet, they placed 2nd. In January, the team brought home 1st place from Centre and became the Wheat State League champions. Finally, the team went on to win 1st place at Solomon.
We asked one of the players, Jameson Lautt, how hard the questions are and what are some variations between meets and if any of the meets seemed harder to him. He said, “I didn't really notice a harder difficulty in regular season meets, although League got very hard with some questions like Foreign Language, I didn’t know much about that, but I tried my hardest.”
The team was coached by Mrs. Darlene Griffiths. Some of the varsity participants were Kevin Smith, Hadley Friedli, Malakhi Kramer, Jayda Shipman, and Paige Linder. The other people are Jameson Lautt, Jeremiah Peterson, Clara Stewart, Cora Stewart.
