It's test time!
On Tuesday, February 24, in the Ag. building, just as school began around 8:00 a.m.. the Junior class took the ACT test. Our White City counselor Ms. Lorri Kasten facilitated the test taking. First, Ms. Kasten ran students through the rules, explaining the time restrictions. Additionally, ACT takers are not allowed food or drink. They can only use #2 pencils. After the second test, they got a 15 min break. There were 4 tests in all covering core school subjects. The Junior class completed the ACT around 11:20 am.
A few of the Juniors shared with us their experience taking the ACT. Avery McMillen said, “I’m pretty confident on how I did on my ACT.” Malakhi Kramer said, “It was challenging.”
According to the website Manhattan Review, “The ACT was created in 1959 by University of Iowa professor Everett Franklin Lindquist as a curriculum-based alternative to the aptitude-focused SAT. Originally, the American College Test covered English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Natural Sciences. It quickly gained popularity, particularly in the Midwest, and became accepted by all US colleges by 2007. The ACT was revised significantly in the 1980s, and the new version of the test was first administered to students in 1989.”
Congratulations to the Juniors on this milestone along their educational journey!
