This season's High School girls basketball team has been coached by our very own White City Principal Kane Hensley.  We wanted to know about the team and the season.  Coach Hensley was kind enough to provide us with some thoughts.

We asked Coach Hensley how long he has been coaching.  In fact, Coach Hensley has been coaching for thirteen years.  Two of those years were as the JH girls coach.  He has spent most of those years at Rural Vista.

Coach Hensley’s experience is not limited solely to basketball.  Mr. Hensley has coached other sports as well.  He tells us, “I have helped coach HS boys basketball and Baseball while I was in College at Wabaunsee. I have also coached football.”

We wanted to know how the team is doing this year. Coach Hensley informs us that,  “The season is going well as we are currently sitting at 8-6. We still have some work left to do but we have already surpassed last season's win total.”

It’s Coach’s opinion that the toughest games so far have been: Little River, Wabaunsee, and Canton-Galva.

What gets the team going?  According to Coach Hensley, it’s music.  Taylor Swift is the best!

The Varsity starters this year are: Molly Hunnicutt, Journey Peterson, Kaimey Evans, Lilli Stillwell and Reagan Fiest. Atley Johnson has also stepped in due to any injuries or sickness.
