On the morning of December 19th 2025, White City students celebrated their achievements during the second quarter.
In the second quarter assembly, our Principal Mr. Kane Hensley announced that this would be an opportunity to recognize exceptional effort. Elementary students in particular were excited to receive PAX and Pawsitive slips. As students came up, Mr. Hensley had them line up, so they could be photographed for the posterity of the Yearbook. These slips signify that they have done something to contribute to the school environment. In other cases, they’ve done work or behaved in a way that impressed their teachers.
Next, Officer Godley comes up to talk about the D.A.R.E system that he does with the fifth grade class. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. It is a drug abuse prevention education program designed to equip elementary, middle and high school children with knowledge about drug abuse, the consequences of abuse, and skills for resisting peer pressure to experiment with drugs, alcohol and tobacco. D.A.R.E. helps to build our drug-free school.
Finally, each grade’s teacher came forward to the front of the gym to recognize student achievement. Each teacher has their own unique things to recognize. For High School, these awards are called PACKS awards. It gives an opportunity for teachers to praise and celebrate outstanding students. Grades are important, but so are sportsmanship and attitude.
With a great and productive first term behind us, White City Schools are onwards and upwards to an awesome second half.
