kfk

On 17th-20th White City school participated in a project called Kids Feeding Kids. Our Y-Link members made food for free, so the White City community could benefit. The Live Well Morris County were in charge of this project. Mrs. Kasten, in charge of the Y-Link group, helped make this project happen.

Also, a big thanks to our kitchen staff to let the Y-Link students use the kitchen. Mrs. Kasten says “I think the Kids Feeding Kids (KFK) project went great!!” Mrs Kasten's favorite part was: “ I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process because all the students that helped worked hard got along really well.” The kid also enjoyed making food for others.

It was also educational: “I also think it also was very educational as students learned about recipe modification/calculation, ingredient substitution, food safety, food insecurity and taking pride in a job well done and service to others,” said Mrs. Kasten.

They spent a certain amount of days making and preparing the food.  Mrs. Kasten says, “We prepped various recipe ingredients between November 17-20 then packaged and distributed the meal on the 21st.”

The students that helped were: Litze Bolanos, Kayley Benner, Journey Peterson, Malakhi Kramer, Kaitlin Parker, Jameson Lautt, Kevin Booth, Ely Benner, Toni Comp, Kaycee Brown and Atley Johnson.

Thank you Mrs Kasten and Kitchen Staff!
