Another big win for the Heat!
Rural Vista Heat took on the Colony Crest Lancers on Thursday Oct 30 at Hope High School for the first Round of 8 Man Division II playoffs. The Heat scored early and often against the Lancers Kole Riedy had 4 TD runs of 50 yds, 41 yds,53 yds and 36 yds. He also returned a punt 73 yards for another TD and Celian Van Bemten returned another punt for 47 yd TD. Koden Sanford scored the other TD on a 3 yard run. Andrew Calvert, Koden Sanford ,Tucker Mein each scored a two-point conversion on runs and Tyler Brockmeier caught a two point conversion from Sanford. Van Bemten added a PAT kick to round out the scoring and the Heat won by a score of 51-0 at the half.
Kole Riedy had another great game and ended up with 8 carries and 216 yds and 4 TDs. He also added a 73 yd punt return for a TD. Andrew Calvert had 4 carries for 13 yds and a 2 point conversion. Koden Sanford had a TD run 2 pt run and pass to Tyler Brockmeier.
On defense, Grant Eskeldson led all tacklers with 9 tackles, and he also added an interception. Nolan Effland had a fumble recovery to turn over the Lancers. Kole Reidy was the second leading tackler with 8 tackles. Koden Sanford and Tucker Mien both added 5 tackles a piece.
The Heat improved its record to 8-1 and will take on state ranked Axtell in the next round as Rural Vista try to avenge a loss to them in the second round last year. The game will take place in White CIty on Nov 7 at 7pm.
