SpellingBee

On February 2, 2024, White City School held its annual Spelling Bee. There were a total of 15 spelling bee participants. The Spelling Bee had numerous rounds, with participants eliminated each round.  Eventually the ranks were whittled down to the remaining three. In third place was Colton Hirt, second place was Holly McCullough, and first place was Kamryn Anderson. The alternate was Brianna Herdon. On February 7th, the top three traveled to the Morris County Spelling Bee in Council Grove.  When Kamryn was asked how it felt to be in the spelling bee, she said, “ I was excited, but I was also nervous.” Kamryn placed 4th in the Morris County Spelling Bee. When Holly was asked what she felt like when she placed 2nd in the spelling bee she said, “It felt good, and I was happy.” Holly placed 3rd in the Morris County Spelling Bee. When Colton was asked how it felt to place 3rd in the spelling bee, he said, “I was happy, and I felt good.” Colton placed 10th in the Morris County Spelling Bee.
