February 7th was Charlie Ann's first day on the job. Ms. Charlie Ann Kidd has recently become a new para for White City Elementary. Charlie Ann said she wanted to become a para so she could help youth. She is a para for the first, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classrooms. Before taking a job here, Charlie Ann worked at the gas station here in White City.
Charlie Ann graduated from White City Schools and then went to Flint Hills College, where she graduated and earned a certificate.
When asked what she likes to do outside of school, she said she likes to do creative things. For example, she likes to draw.
What does a paraprofessional do? A para is a teacher's assistant. Paras provide instructional, behavioral, and other support to students in and outside of the classroom.
Is it a long term thing? Charlie Ann said it would most likely be a long term thing because she likes helping kids and seeing them grow.
