LorriKasten

Mrs. Lorri Kasten has been a counselor at White City Schools for 12 years. Some of her duties are helping kids with emotional problems and career exploration and Red Ribbon Week activities.  She graduated from K-State in Social Work. She said some of the issues students come to her with are peer pressure, relationship troubles and where to fit in in our school and the world in general.  They also tend to struggle with procrastination with schoolwork. The hardest part of Mrs. Lorri’s job is seeing kids in pain. Her favorite part of her job is getting hugs from kids. Mrs. Kasten would work at an animal rescue, if she wasn’t working here. For fun, Mrs Lorrie likes to spend time with family and pets and watch Netflix. She likes working at a small school because she has closer relationships with people. Mrs Kasten’s favorite part about White City is the way people help each other in times of need.  Mrs Lorri is from Russell, Kansas. She tries to help students prepare for their futures by taking them on college visits, hosting workshops and presentations, and listening to students talk about their life and trying to find ways to help.
