Let’s Celebrate Dr. Suess Week
Hope Elementary students will be celebrating Dr. Suess during the week of March 8-11.  There will be dress-up days for the elementary students. The days are as follows:

Monday—Curl up with a Dr. Suess Book—PJ Day
Tuesday—Suess’s Super Silly Sock Day
Wednesday—Wacky Wednesday
Thursday—Hat Day: Hats off to Dr. Suess

Area American Red Cross Blood Drive
The American Red Cross will be having a blood drive on Friday, March 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Herington Fairgrounds.

Chicken Pox Immunization
Starting next year, 2010-2011, Varicella (chicken pox) immunization is required for all school-age children.  We’ve been told that the Dickinson County Health Department is willing to assist with getting this accomplished.  As we learn more about what they are willing to do we will let you know.  However, if you would like to go ahead and have your child immunized, please be sure to provide the school with documentation.  Joan Brackney R.N.

The Spicy Side of Hope Chili Cook-Off
A Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by The Hope Community Development Group, will take place on Sunday, March 7, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., at the FNB Community Annex in Hope.  Tickets are $1.00 at the door and will be used to purchase food items at the cook-off.  In addition to chili, there will also be food tables of salads, pies, cinnamon rolls, etc., for purchase.  Entertainment will be provided by Trail Song Willie and other local talents.  A portion of the proceeds will go towards the development of Hope, including a youth center (internet café), bike/walking trail and a mini RV campsite.  For Chili Cook-Off registration forms or questions, please contact Christina Reitz, President, at 366-7436.
